Capadocia is a region in the heart of central Anatolia. It was the homeland of the Early Christian Church Fathers who made many significiant and lasting contributions to provincal Byzantine culture. Orthodox theology evolved here in the writings of Basil, Bishop of Caesera , his brother's Gregory of Nyssa and his friends Gregory of Nazinzus, all born and bred in the heart of Cappadocia.
